Our Culture

LaserShip’s culture is knowing what you need to do when you get to work in the morning without having to be told what to do. Our culture is the ingrained attitude we bring to work every day — the pattern of thinking and acting with the customer in mind. It’s not just doing the right things, it’s doing things right — a thousand different behaviors we’ve inherited from team members who came before us and that we model and give as our legacy for the team members who come after us.  Keeping promises, Respecting the Wishes of our Customers; Valuing the contributions of all of our people, Passing on a legacy of greatness.

The Recipe for Success

“The recipe for success, says Jeff Bewkes the CEO of Time Warner is “you have to know what you are.”  Mr. Bewkes in an interview admitted that his company’s merger with AOL was “the biggest mistake in corporate history.”

Mr. Bewkes added: "The whole the idea of merger was misguided in the first place…everyone needs to think carefully about what their function is in the modern world and the value of the activity that you and your company are doing.”

"It is the legitimacy of any business enterprise that, in order to deserve business and financial support, you should be doing something valuable and legitimate and not something else,” said Bewkes.

Bewkes comments…

♦ You have to know who you are
♦ Everyone needs to think carefully about what their function is
♦ And…consider the value of the activity that you and your company are doing

…are important points that each person and each company should consider.

At the end of the day, LaserShip is doing “something valuable and legitimate,” and proud of it--Our Recipe for Success!

Persistency

Persistency is a term used in the insurance industry.  It is a widely accepted metric that measures the percentage of already written insurance policies that remain in force without lapsing or being replaced by policies of other insurers.  This concept of persistency is a critical factor in the viability and success of insurance companies and they constantly look for ways to increase this percentage.

Persistency is a great term to consider for LaserShip’s business:  It evokes the image of our determined and dedicated teams doing all that it takes to produce on-time deliveries with full communication to our customers; creating the differentiations that sets us apart, resulting in long-term retention of customers.

Connecting Positive Thinking and Customer Service

Positive Thoughts and Positive Thinkers are good for customer service.  Having a positive frame of mind is essential for creating an Extraordinary Experience Everytime.  Positive thinking pulls from our depths the emotion of gratitude and the act of problem solving.  Positive Thinkers are grateful for our customers and want to solve any problem they may have.  Positive Thinking people are also happier at their jobs and it shows—delivering the desired results even in difficult circumstances.

Positive, Pragmatic, Proactive

Now is the time to be positive, pragmatic and proactive.

  • Positive thoughts are necessary for any forward movement; they create the energy that fuel action

  • Pragmatic is focusing only on what works, what produces the desired results

  • Proactive is intervening in a positive manner to control an anticipated occurrence or situation; acting in anticipation of future problems or needs.
In a simpler form this is a restatement of Think-Plan-Act.

  • Think:  Take the powerful first step of thinking about how you can positively change a situation for the better.  Think of ideas and solutions.  Think of the resources you will need to surround yourself with to make the change.  Think about the benefits of the change.

  • Plan: Check the practicality of your ideas:  Will they work; will they solve the problem you are focused on without causing unintended consequences; will they produce the results you desire.  Develop a practical plan that will allow you to take action in realistic small steps—then plan to check to see if you are moving in the right direction.

  • Act: Implement the change towards achieving your goals.  Taking action is the logical extension of positive thinking—putting thoughts into action to produce results is a powerful form of affirmation.

The Four Keys to Achieving Results

Awareness, Choice, Responsibility and Accountability are four powerful keys to being effective and achieving results.  Develop greater clarity on what results you are trying to produce and the steps you are currently taking to reach your goals.  Reject approaches that are not moving you in the right direction, selecting new approaches that move you closer to the goal line.  Take ownership of the problems you face and the solutions you have selected.  Step up to being proactive in making things happen.
